Burrs directly affect the dimensional accuracy, shape and position accuracy, and surface roughness of the workpiece, so deburring, edge rounding, and surface finishing are required.

Laser cutting machines are already common in sheet metal processing. Due to their high efficiency and high-quality cutting, they have become standard equipment for sheet metal processing stations. However, in laser cutting, many reasons can lead to the appearance of burrs, such as insufficient output power, laser beam position deviation, long working time, slow cutting speed, etc. In stamping, there is a gap between the punch on the die and the lower die, or there is a gap between the tools at the cut, and burrs can also be generated due to die wear. After laser cutting with oxygen as the auxiliary gas, an oxide layer will appear on the edge of the sheet metal. The subsequent spraying and welding processes will also be affected. The coating and weld will rust along with the oxide layer, or even fall off.
